SkyPicture is committed to providing a usable and accessible experience for everyone. We follow Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Our Target

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. This includes:

  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Keyboard-accessible interactive elements
  • Visible focus indicators
  • Text alternatives for images
  • Sufficient color contrast
  • Responsive layout from 320px mobile to wide desktop
  • Content that reflows at 200% zoom
  • Respect for reduced-motion preferences

Known Limitations

  • APOD images are served directly from NASA servers and may not have alt text optimized by SkyPicture. We always provide the image title and description as context.
  • The date picker component uses the browser's native date input. Some assistive technologies may have limitations with native date pickers.
